Anuj Thapan, a key accused in the shooting incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence, was discovered dead in Mumbai police custody on Wednesday.
Thapan was rushed to the hospital by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch after he took the extreme step.
Thapan was accused of providing weapons to the shooters. Earlier, the shooters involved in the incident, identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were apprehended from Gujarat's Bhuj.
The Mumbai Crime Branch had recently issued a lookout notice against Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol Bishnoi had claimed responsibility for the shooting at Salman Khan's residence mere hours after the incident, through a post on his Facebook profile.
